The Sooke Adventure Tourism School (SATS) offers programs and courses for people interested in careers in Adventure Tourism. Students will gain the knowledge, skills, confidence and experience to succeed working in this industry, in both land- and marine-based operations.
The Level II Certificate Program meets and exceeds the Provincial Adventure Tourism Framework recommendations, both in courses offered and in total instructional hours. We are an accredited institution with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia (PCTIA). We are also registered with the British Columbia Student Assistance Program (BCSAP).
SATS focuses on our natural market advantage; what we can do best in this geographic area, combined with what existing Adventure Tourism businesses do.
The focus is also global, ensuring that the courses and standards delivered are acceptable and desirable beyond western Canada.
The School provides students with the learning opportunities in Adventure Tourism, which will allow and encourage students to achieve a standard of excellence in their coursework, personal growth and careers.

The training and experience gained in our program is industry based; our grads are sought after within the outdoor adventure tourism sector. The Adventure Tourism business community anticipates our grads knowing they graduate with both general and specific training and skills. This reduces the operator’s need for on-the-job training and can often allow the graduate to become involved immediately in the operation of the business.
