Scot Taylor
Business Director
Theory and Field Skills Instructor
My interest in adventure tourism began as a student in the Eco Adventure Tourism course at Camosun College in 1997-98. After graduating I realized that I not only wanted to become an operator in adventure tourism, but that I wanted to become an educator in an independent school as well. Together with Phil and Bryan, we created SATS!
My experience within the industry is more than ten years. I am the proud owner and operator of Rush Adventure Inc; a Sooke-based Adventure Tourism Company, located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Rush Adventures was my dream that came to life when I bought the very place I had begun my guiding career, To’ki (The Ocean Kayak Institute), in 1999.
The skills and experiences that I bring to the school include sea kayaking, mountaineering, skydiving, whitewater rafting, hiking and kayak surfing. I am a certified Guide with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of B.C. and have worked with the British Canoe Union program.
I am ready for a new challenge; I’m planning to further my education through the Environmental Studies program at the University of Victoria.
Sooke Adventure Tourism School and Rush Adventures are both located in Sooke, and I am a strong supporter of the local Community and Business Association.
My main aspirations in life are to have fun, learn as much as I can and live every day to it’s fullest!
